Alan Wake 2 is now profitable, Remedy Entertainment has announced. It's been over a year since we started collecting the Alan Wake 2 achievements, and after more than two million sales, the fantastic Xbox horror game has recouped its development costs.

Alan Wake 2 surpasses two million sales

  • Alan Wake 2 launched on Xbox Series X|S on October 27, 2023
  • Remedy Entertainment says it recouped the game's development costs at the end of 2024
  • Over two million players have bought the game across all platforms
As announced in Remedy Entertainment's latest financial report, Alan Wake 2 has now exceeded two million sales. After recouping its development and marketing costs at the end of last year, the horror game is now earning Remedy royalties.

Elsewhere in the report, Remedy confirms that its upcoming three-player co-op FPS set in the Control universe, FBC: Firebreak, is still on track for a release later this year, although we're yet to learn when it'll launch on Xbox. For Control fans looking forward to its sequel, Remedy says Control 2 will enter full production at the end of this month.

As for the Max Payne 1&2 Remake Remedy is developing alongside Rockstar Games, it's "making steady progress in full production," and "progress is heading towards key development objectives."

Alan Wake 2 is one of the best Xbox games around and has only gotten better with the release of its Night Springs and Lake House expansions. Hopefully, some of you took advantage of the recent Lunar New Year sale, which saw Remedy giving away Alan Wake Remastered with every copy of Alan Wake 2.
