Alpha Strike Protocol achievement in Avowed

After the “tall grass” tutorial, you can utilize this mechanic to speed things along. Crouch and sneak up behind an enemy with a melee weapon and wait for your crosshairs to change before you attack. However, the achievement popped for me with a wand attack on a random non alerted enemy.

Welp, got some bad news on these chievos. Seems as though they are borked in the same way that the ones from Pillars of Eternity were when the screw-ups at paradox ported it to console. If you turn the console OFF without having gotten the achievement, your stats for that particular do X amount of whatever is RESET.
I just loaded my original save from the beginning of the game, got to the are where the tutorial explains stealth, and I stealth killed four enemies, from the grass is ALSO required, and my tracker finally increased on the fourth one as it was stuck at 20%, now at 26%.
So this tells me all the x amount chievos are going to be hosed if you ever decide to turn your console off before getting them. I also just reloaded the save I made, stealth killed the first one and the tracker did NOT go up. Either because Reloading resets the tracker or because they need to be successive kills as in one after the other.
Going to proceed further and see if I can get anymore from that previous save after clearing out those four

Yep. Mines stuck 33%. Ive gotten so many stealth kills and it just wont go up

What's odd is that original save from the beginning I had, I did the first stealth kill as instructed by the game, and on the fourth one my tracker went up, I was thinking it was because I was actually in the grass....well...the next one I did was not in the grass yet it also increased my tracker along with the subsequent next 3, from grass. So I'm now at 53%. But upon reloading my actual progress where I'm at in the game, I've performed three more..not from grass mind you and it has Not increased my tracker.
So now I have NO clue what's going on.

This one is a right pain in the arse. I think I know now what;s going on. If someone who already has this could verify yay or nay, it would help EVERYONE out.
So after finding more enemies to stealth kill both in and out of grass, my tracker wasn't moving. So I loaded up that early early save where you are given the first opportunity to stealth kill from grass. I proceeded to stealth kill all enemies and quickly ran to unavoidable end encounter on the starting island. Finished that off and progressed the story to the next location. I ran straight to where the groupings of Xaurips are and proceeded to stealth kill all of them, whereupon I got the chievo.
Here's what I think is going on, I think either the coding is wrong or the description is wrong. I stealth killed all in a ROW Without killing any in normal combat situations. All were stealth kills except for the story related one at the end of the tutorial.
Can someone verify if when they got theirs whether or not it was in a row or what?

I got this just getting the kills over time now in a row - it just popped but it has to be using the godlike power that pops up when you’re behind an aware enemy with RT

Yeah I did 30 or more of those on my later save. Mixed between with some regular combat. No dice. It was Only when I reloaded the beginning game save and straight through stealth only that the tracker moved and the chievo popped
Which doesn't bode well for my lying x amount of times and taking conversations to attack levels x amount of times. They've quit tracking too

It appears one-shotting enemies from afar with range weapons while they are unaware of your presence counts toward stealth kills, too.

Meaning that if you alert others in a grouping then it doesn't count. Now it makes sense what's going on. My wife is saying every other or even every other 2 are counting, which if she alerts others on those in between then it won't count.....kinda silly to have a game coded that way for stealth, but at least now we have an understanding of what's what.

I can confirm that tracking isnt broke (have closed the game a couple of times) but the stealth needs to be 'perfect' (stealth up to enemy, kill them, still be undetected after that)

a few times I stealth killed someone and the counter didn't go up in the character page, realised that was because another enemy was alerted by me killing something
