Black Myth: Wukong delays Xbox Series X|S version

The Summer Game Fest brought a new trailer for action-RPG Black Myth: Wukong, which has now confirmed a delay for the Xbox Series X|S version of the game.

We'll need to wait a bit longer to get started with the Black Myth: WuKong achievements. A new trailer for the action RPG appeared during Summer Game Fest, confirming an August 20 release date for PS5 and PC, but the Xbox Series X|S version of Black Myth: Wukong has been delayed.

Black Myth: Wukong pushed back for Xbox Series X|S

The trailer above confirms a release date of August 20 for PS5, Steam, Epic Games Store, and WeGame and that digital pre-orders are now live, but the pre-order FAQ confirms that the Xbox Series X|S version won't be released on the same date. "PC and PS5 users can enjoy the full game starting August 20, 2024. We are currently optimizing the Xbox Series X|S version to meet our quality standards, so it won't release simultaneously with the other platforms. We apologize for the delay and aim to minimize the wait for Xbox users. We will announce the release date as soon as it meets our quality standards."

When Black Myth: Wukong does release for Xbox, it'll bring us "an action RPG rooted in Chinese mythology," according to the Steam description. "You shall set out as the Destined One to venture into the challenges and marvels ahead, to uncover the obscured truth beneath the veil of a glorious legend from the past."
