How to unlock the Bookman achievement

There are 53 abilities to unlock by spending adventure points. You will need a lot (≈25,000) of **adventure points** to unlock these, but I finished the game with a spare 6300 points, so it's not too tight (unlike money).

The better method to finding their skill (ability) books requires you to buy or find each area's Map, Notes, and Books Exploration guides. You may have to progress the fieldwork or storyline in the area to make the guides available to purchase. I would strongly recommend having and using the alternative disguises (and their keys) for Indy to allow you to search with less conflict.

There are three books that first appear in areas you will not be able to revisit, but they will be relocated elsewhere and discoverable: Cutman II (found initially during the airship transition to Gizeh and relocated to overworld Gizeh), and Slug Boy II and Fast Hands (both found initially in the Sukhothai "Trouble in Paradise" hotel area and relocated to the Sukhothai overworld).

When you buy the area's Exploration Books guide, a quest called "A World of Knowledge" will appear and direct you to the skill books as well as the other merchant books. Merchants sell guides specific to the main three locations: Vatican, Gizeh and Sukhothai.
Vatican Books - sold at the Vatican Post office
Gizeh Books - sold by a vendor in Gizeh Village
Sukhothai Books- sold at Tongdang's Hut
The medical vendor in each of these three areas will trade Medicine Bottles for 6 skill books; the boxing areas will each sell 2 skill books. These will still need to be unlocked with adventure points after receiving them.

There are also Exploration guides/books found for the other (smaller content) areas: Marshall College, Kummetz(Himalayas), Shanghai, and Iraq(Ziggurat). These guides will lead to collectibles for those areas.
Marshall College Guide - found in Vatican
Kummetz Guide - found in Sukhothai
Shanghai Guide - found in Sukhothai
Ziggurat Guide - found in Iraq

    Survival (11 books):
Shaping Up I, II, III (Medicine Bottle exchange)
Lucky Hat I (Vatican-Castel), II (Sukhothai)
    Patch Up (Gizeh)
    True Grit (Gizeh)
    Seeing Red (Sukhothai)
Hardboiled I (Vatican), II (Gizeh), III (Sukhothai) (boxing vendors)

    Fitness (11books):
    Pep I (Vatican), II (Gizeh)
Climbing Ace I (Vatican), II (Gizeh)
    Cutman I (Vatican), II (Gizeh)
Iron Grip I (Vatican), II (Sukhothai)
Moxie I, II, III (Medicine Bottle exchange)

    Packing 7 books:
Slug Boy I (Gizeh), II (Sukhothai)
Sawbones I (Vatican), II (Gizeh), III (Sukhothai) (boxing vendors)
    Bread Basket (Gizeh)
    Fruit Bag (Vatican)

    Brawling (12 books):
Punch Out I (Vatican-Castel), II (Sukhothai)
Brawler I (Vatican-Castel), II (Vatican), III (Gizeh)
    Jumbo Grip (Sukhothai)
    Block Head (Gizeh)
    Bob & Weave (Shanghai)
    Slugger I (Gizeh), II (Sukhothai)
    Jumbo Shove (Sukhothai)
    Bear Hands (Sukhothai)

    Combat (12 books):
    Splinter Smash (Vatican)
    Fast Hands (Sukhothai)
    Jumbo Lasso (Gizeh)
Button Man I (Gizeh), II (Kummetz)
Street Scrapper I (Vatican), II (Gizeh), III (Sukhothai)
    Pitcher (Gizeh)
    Handyman (Sukhothai)
    Throttle (Vatican)
    Jumbo Throttle (Sukhothai)

In addition, there are 25 Exploration books and maps (Artifacts, Notes, Mysteries, Frequencies, Relics) which are either found or purchasable and do NOT require Adventure points to unlock.

**Adventure points will mostly be obtained by the adventure storyline, fieldwork, discoveries, mysteries, etc. Smaller amounts of adventure points can be earned by burning the Propaganda posters or aiding NPCs having conversations relating a need (e.g., a photo or basket of fruit) and having this in your inventory or finding it in the near vicinity allows you to interact with them (e.g., offering a photo or placing the basket on a table).

(This is still an early guide. Please message me with corrections or details.)

eSKibOy22I thought this was glitched for me but it wasn't. I collected all the books in all the areas where they were, I had the 'a world of knowledge' on all areas ticked off and the achievement hadn't popped, I then checked through the abilities and I hadn't applied hardboiled 3 and as soon as I did this the cheevo popped. So make sure you apply all the abilities. Hope this helps

ChuppernicusMissing Street Scrapper I, yet no book to be found. It's invisible.
The icon appeared at the display next to the Pharmacy until I bought the last book at the post office. It said 21 of 23. When I bought the last post office book it said I no longer had anything in the Vatican to buy and I could donate to the pharmacy if I wanted.

A world of knowledge now says 22 of 23.

FruitofPassionDo we have to purchase the guide books that cost money? Cuz if I can like just google the mystery locations and save money on buying the book it would certainly help since books are so expensive and money is so low :(

AndreiMaxSLDyou dont need to buy the guide books for this achievement

this is the very same thing as the bookworm achievement wich consist in learning 10 skills, but you need all the skills for this one ofc.

what i recomend is use youtube guides and go get the ones you still dont have, if you spend money on guides you may need to look for money across the map cause the books at the boxing spots are really expensive.

the medicine side quest will award you enough to buy all the books from the merchant making you end up with 0 after buying all.

you can count your learned skills ignoring the explorarion tab cause it doesnt count for this.

EskibonMissing book inside a Chest in Giza. I Spent hours collecting all books and just need this book to get the achivement. Hope Machine Games fix this without force me to play entire game and do it again. It´s so frustrating and annoying release the game with problems like this, it´s disrespectful for completionist gamers. If I have to play again, I will drop the game and leave the rest of achievements behind.
