The Last Remnant guide for anyone starting it now!
External image

I just finished The Last Remnant and it does not have a great walkthrough. So I like to help anyone that wants to finish this. There are many things to know about this game but if you want to follow a video guide that I used then be warned. You will miss out on achievements if you follow it to the point but I still recommend it as long you read the rest here first.

That walkthrough is great but if you are on the XBOX you will miss out on achievements if you follow this one. DO NOT for example side with Roberto 3 times for one questline. Side with the other person 3 times or you miss out on a sidequest you need to do.

Also you can´t turn off things in the menu to make fights easier! To avoid using some arts/skills you don´t want them to choose from.

Also you can´t use 18 leaders (unique characters) like on the pc. Only up to 6 and the ones I used were:

Group 1: Rush, Soldier, Soldier, Soldier (Soldiers you recruit from Athlum a bit into the story) And by soldier it can be anyone they hire but you want to be sure here that if Rush for example use Mystic arts sometimes to heal that the soldier also can use Mystic to heal or they sometimes do nothing when you need to heal. Also great if they have item arts so they can use that to revive and heal. I made bad mistakes when I choose what soldier to use as they had item arts but not mystic artts. If they have mystic arts you want them to also have combat arts. You want to have soldiers that always have combat arts so your units always can choose combat arts in fights to deal more damage. Never go for mystic arts or anything else except for healing.

Group 2: Torqal, Soldier, Soldier, Soldier

Group 3: Emmy/Emma, Caedmon, soldier, soldier, soldier. Emma and caedmon are two of the three most important ones if you ask me. They can deal great damage and also heal and revive. Kiss of life is so important at the end of the game which Emma will learn.

Group 4: Glennys, Jager, Soldier, Soldier, Soldier. Glennys is one of the best if you ask me as she also learn kiss of life and deal great damage. Jager i only added for the final boss fight because he have so much HP which helps you survive an attack that can wipeout your entire party. Boosting up that HP helps for the final fight. (I used Zolean in hopes to get that AP drain mystic and added a 5th group of 3 and kept spamming mystics but I never got it and managed to defeat the fallen etc without him having it. He sucked so use Jager instead when you get him).

People recommend Baulson a lot but I did not like him much! Not the way I play without DLC and so on. Baulson never got healing things and was very too much like Torqal but you can use him instead of Jager if you want but you wont get that high HP that Jager have which i know help a lot for the final fight).

You can´t do the PC ultimate grind on the xbox so instead do something called rush only in Robelia castle/ Sweeping safehold location. Attacking 1 worm unit at a time. (DO NEVER CHAIN for more units) because that will increase your BR and you do not want that. When doing rush only thing you want to just grind there to upgrade all the stats for your leaders. You use only Rush and only one group and somehow the other leaders you get also learn stats while you only use Rush without any hired soldiers as well in his group.

After you kill all the worms there go back to Center Tier were you came from and make a save. Return to lobby from the Meny by pressing Y button and pick the bottom choice. Then reload the game and go back to the Sweeping safehold and repeat killing the worms one by one. Reload if you accidently chain a big group. I did this until I had a total of 1100 chain. I think that is enough as that helped me with the rest of the game. Oh and you can do this rush only when Lee starts doing the PC ultimate grind.

Another warning! Never go to a city called Underwalt until you have done all the quests that is avaiable on DISC ONE for the xbox. You can finish MT. Vackel and open up underwalt but never go in there.

AND MOST IMPORTANT: If you want gury the mystic achievement! Go to MT. Vackel and kill two Brynhldr before you are above BR 75. I could still do this even if I was BR 77 but online they say BR 75 they change to something else. So do this before you are too high BR. This should be your priority! And when one spawn you can move to the area close on MT.Vackel (Go back a bit to a new loading screen) and then save and do the reload trick and this Brynhldr will respawn and then kill him again so you get your two that you need for a guild rank 5 and a possibility to get the gury the mystic achievement.

Also one more thing! For people that start the game now on xbox and never downloaded the free dlc. You will not be able to do some of the things he mention were you need to go to a place called Ancient Ruins. Because of this I did not bother doing all the guild ranks that is not necessary for achievements. Nor do you need to do rare monster hunting except for the ones needed for achievements.

Another thing! Lee never pick up things on the ground with Mr. Diggs to save video time! Ignore that and pick up the orange ones whenever you see them. This way you do not need to backtrack later and can get nice things you might need.

However, there is no real need to hunt for items in this game and upgrade your weapons. The soldiers and the other leaders will ask for things but just ignore that to save time. They will upgrade themself anyway it seems and it does not do you any good. More or less a waste of time if you ask me. ALWAYS SPLIT enemies to make the split 500 monster achievements easier to get. The monsters give you items you need for things but I never really needed anything the monsters gave me because this game is like stupid. But still do it because you need to split 500 monsters you capture and now when I write this, that is the last achievement I have to do and it is boring. (I would recommend after you are done with the game that you do this achievement in the same place I recommend to do the Rush only thing. Sweeping Safehold is a good place for that one but now you want to chain all the worms together in one attack instead to capture a lot of them. Then go back and save and reload to make them spawn again. Super boring!

If you want you can buy a Hawkind and upgrade that one to Frost Hawkind for Rush and get two of them. Or even better if you have the free DLC. But I could not upgrade it further since I did not have the dlc downlaoded and marketplace is now shut down. Never change weapon type for rush except in the beginning when you buy an Axe. Always use an Axe so he gets better with this type of weapons. (From my understanding of the game).

Also stick with the same leaders throughout the game. I read they become better if you have them as leaders all the way. (Except you cant do that when you do the rush only thing and that´s ok).

Here are the vids I used:

I would recommend following the order he do the quests in but make sure to do all the quests avaiable on DISC ONE before you move on from that.

MAKE BACK UP SAVES that you never touch again. End of Disc one and Beginning of Disc 2 are important saves to do.

MAKE SURE TO DO THE QUEST At Hatreds End! Before moving on to disc 2. Do NOT listen to people saying you do not need to do it. It is an easy one anyway!

Follow this one:

https://www.xboxachievements.com/forum/topic/104391-chronolo...

No need to do the quests in this order, I would do them in the order the youtube walkthrough did them that I linked here.

Do not do Kosmofest on DISC 2 until you have killed the 2 brynhldr. You will gain a lot of BR (level up) which you do not want before killing the two birds.

At some point I would also recommend that you go to Wyrmskeep again and try to get lucky finding the Bandit there. When you do here is a great spot to level up so the game gets easier. You have already done the Rush Only thing up to chain 1100 killing one worm at a time. But now you want to gain more hp and stats etc. I would do this up to BR 70 or so BUT BE SURE TO STOP before reaching BR 75 and then straight after this go to MT. Vackel and kill those 2 Brynhldr. (Here you use full groups with 4 units, not rush only thing). (When I was done grinding the bandit, I had 4,1 million but when i beat the game I still had 3 Million but the level up stats is great here because you do not gain so much BR for each fight with the bandit but gain a lot of stats upgrades, extra hp and extra arts level up and so on). I did try to kill all the other enemies here too to reach chain 400 for that extra stat.

When you reach 400 chain you get more stats upgrade for each fight. You loose the chain if an enemy attack you without you instigating it so if that happens, just reload. After you reach chain 400, you only attack the bandit and try to not get any more enemies beside him.

I did this extra Wyrmskeep grind when I had to defeat base 6. The game got a bit too tough at that point since my HP and stats were not really that high. But you wont have Jager at that point but just add Jager when you get him later. So perhaps just do this before you do any of the base 1-6.

(This guy with these videos will never go to wyrmskeep to search for the bandit there but just locate using google were he will spawn and how and it has to be the bandit in wyrmskeep and it is good to do only when you have these 5 people in your group, i never had Jurgen for this as I only used him once in the game).

Then after that Kill the fallen to avoid missing out on that! Just to be sure!

This will help with the rest of the game and the final boss.

Vs the final boss You want at least two groups to have above 7000 HP or preferable 7000-8000 to make that one doable. (Easier).

Also make sure you are not BR 112 when you reach the final boss! He level up one more step and makes it very hard to defeat him. I was BR 94! This information i found by google about it.

I would use the 30 % extra HP on both Euipment slots for Rush!

Oh and one more thing! Get the 5 other leaders parameter bonus that you use. You get that by talking to them were they are each time you enter a specific city that they spawn in. They all have their own city were they will be. Some are in a pub and some are outside the pubs and so on. You have to talk to them 3-5 times before they have a red bubble above their heads that indicate that they have something new to say. The xbox version will NOT let you know when you get their parameter bonus. Actually, perhaps the parameter bonus is only given on PC. Perhaps I did all of that for nothing. Oh well, do it just in case to increase their stats. Google when you get the parameter bonus for each one of the 5 i recommend and you might get the increase.

Below is a walkthrough i did not follow and might be so much better because I think it might be for the xbox version.
