While it's still an early access title, you can plug away at the Phasmophobia achievements when diving into the Xbox horror game's upcoming updates.Phasmophobia has tons of updates on the way in 2025 and 2026Kinetic Games has revealed the Phasmophobia roadmap for 2025Several maps and player characters will be overhauled in the coming monthsNew maps, Horror 2.0, and more are planned for 2026While Phasmophobia hasn't had a full launch just yet, Kinetic Games has some huge plans for the multiplayer horror game throughout 2025 and into 2026. According to the new roadmap, Kinetic Games will overhaul several maps this year and rework character models, while a new Sound Recorder and Journal will be introduced in the game's next update. Additionally, the team plans seasonal events to celebrate Easter, Halloween, and the winter holidays. The first major update coming to Phasmophobia is Chronicle, which will revamp photo and video evidence gathering in investigations. Your findings will be logged in a new Media tab alongside the recordings made with the new Sound Recorder. Sadly, we don't have a release date for Chronicle, but Kinetic says it'll arrive with a few other "extra bits" as well. A Player Character Overhaul update will drop after Chronicle, and as the name suggests, your Ghost Hunter is getting a few improvements. Refreshed character models and better animations are on the docket, but we'll need to wait until 2026 for any customization features. As for the maps themselves, a brand new map is on the way, which Kinetic says is "akin to the houses," and will be the first of several new smaller maps heading to the game in the future. We will see some of the current maps get freshened up this year too, the first of which is Bleasedale Farmhouse, which launches in March. It'll roll out with a new look and slight layout changes alongside fresh assets and props. The Grafton Farmhouse and 6 Tanglewood Drive maps will be overhauled late in 2025."These reworks are all about bringing these maps in line with our full vision for them. So you can expect to see complete artistic overhauls of each map, including new assets and animations, a high level of visual detail as well as a few layout changes. They’ll still be the maps you’ve grown to love through endless investigations, however," Kinetic Games says. "Moving into 2026, we’ll be reworking more of our maps while introducing new ones. Stay tuned!"We'll see several seasonal events return in 2025 too, starting with the Easter event, which will arrive with a new twist compared to last year. The Halloween and Winter events will return with the same themes, so expect to aid the Blood Mood cult and facing Krampus once again later this year. While still keeping this reasonably close to its chest, Kinetic Games teases that 2026 will introduce the Horror 2.0 update, additional map reworks, brand-new maps, and more.In other horror news, Resident Evil 5 could be coming to Xbox Series X|S.
