Which "legendary Japanese IP" do you hope to see at the Xbox Developer Direct? That's what we want to know for this week's poll. According to recent rumors, Microsoft will be revealing the game during next week's Developer Direct, which will also give us a closer look at several other upcoming Xbox games.

Reports suggest that the mystery title will be a new game from a "legendary Japanese IP"

On Thursday, January 23 at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT, Microsoft will be hosting its annual Developer Direct, which will feature a handful of titles launching on Xbox this year. The company has confirmed that id Software's Doom: The Dark Ages, Compulsion Games' South of Midnight, and Sandfall Interactive's Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will be shown alongside a mystery game.

Soon after Microsoft announced the Developer Direct, Windows Central's Jez Corden reported that the mystery title is a "new entry in a legendary Japanese IP which has decades of history, and should make a lot of fans happy." Corden didn't name the game, however, so we thought it would be fun to speculate on what we might see during the show.

Could we see the next Resident Evil game announced during the show now that Capcom has confirmed it's in development, or maybe Konami is cooking up a new Metal Gear Solid game alongside the Delta remake. We've not seen anything from Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts, Soulcalibur, or Devil May Cry in a little while either. How about Persona? Sega and Atlus have had a good relationship with Microsoft and Xbox Game Pass in recent years, so maybe we'll see something new from that franchise.
