With the Deadpool & Wolverine movie's launch this week. Microsoft celebrated the occasion by announcing giveaways for a custom Deadpool Xbox controller and a custom Wolverine controller, both featuring the characters' rears or the... well, rear. They look like great items for collectors, but just like the majority of Microsoft's giveaways, you can't purchase them for yourself.

We've seen a host of awesome consoles and controllers given away by Microsoft in recent years, such as South Park: Snow Day Xbox Series X bundles, Lego Star Wars Xbox Series S consoles, an X-Men '97 Xbox Series X console, and more. As a general rule of thumb, these cool items never go on sale, staying as one-off pieces for the lucky winners.

In a rare move by the company, Microsoft did partner with BestBuy for a SpongeBob SquarePants Xbox Series X bundle earlier this year, which had very limited stock, was only available in the US, and cost $699. The days of seeing special edition controllers and consoles, other than the semi-regular Xbox controller color variants we see every few months, appear to be long gone, and while we would expect them to come with a premium price tag if they ever returned, it would be interesting to know if you'd pay out for funky pads shaped like butts or consoles with a big face stuck to the front.

Just as we've mentioned above, Microsoft is now giving away a custom Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Xbox Series X|S bundle in North America.
