A new ESRB rating suggests we'll see Resident Evil 5 on Xbox Series X|S soon. There are already three stacks of Resident Evil 5 achievements, but if this action-horror Xbox game does get a current-gen port, then you might be able to earn yet another 1,000G from the controversial Resi game.

Resident Evil 5 rated for Xbox Series X|S by ESRB

  • Resident Evil 5 first launched in 2009 on Xbox 360 and PC via GFWL before coming to Xbox One in 2016
  • A new ESRB rating suggests Resi 5 is now getting an Xbox Series X|S re-release
  • Resident Evil 6 was also recently rated by the ESRB for current-gen platforms
The new rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board appeared this week, and other than a brief description about the game and having Xbox Series X|S listed as a platform, it doesn't tell anything about this new version and what it might be.

Capcom hasn't announced that anything Resident Evil 5-related is in the works, so it's unknown when exactly we'll see this new version land on Xbox consoles. That being said, it seems like there is definitely something going on over at the publisher as Resident Evil 6 was also recently rated for Xbox Series X|S.

If you're unfamiliar with this one, Resident Evil 5 is a third-person action-horror set five years after the events of Resident Evil 4. Playing as Chris Redfield, now an agent of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance, you are sent to Kijuju in West Africa to investigate a new terrorist threat. Interestingly, Resi 5 is more action-focused compared to previous entries into the survival-horror series, and it was developed with two-player co-op in mind, so you and a pal can play through the campaign together.
