Space Engineers finally gets a release date for Xbox One — launching this April

Announced six years ago, Space Engineers finally has a release date. The space-based sandbox management sim will be coming to Xbox One on April 15th as announced by Keen Software House developer Marek Rosa.

Space Engineers was announced for Xbox One back in 2014 after becoming a viral hit over on Steam in its Early Access phase. The game released in full on Steam this time last year, but news on the Xbox version has been somewhat sparse. We picked up the Space Engineers achievement list five months ago, and the Gamerscore for each achievement was slightly odd. The list featured 27 achievements, and all bar one were worth 37 Gamerscore. The list was then updated a couple of months later, with the odd Gamerscore values being changed to nice round numbers.

According to Marek Rosa's dev blog, your multiplayer experience might be limited depending on which Xbox One console you own. If you own an Xbox One or Xbox One S, multiplayer will only support up to two-player multiplayer while if you have an Xbox One X, you can play up to four-player multiplayer.

Now the game is expected to release on April 15th, with pre-orders for the game being taken. You can pre-order the standard edition for $19.99/£16.74/€19.99 which will grant you three premium skins access to the closed beta in March and access to the full game four days early.

There's also the Space Engineers: Ultimate Edition 2019. If you pre-order this edition you will get three premium skins, access to the closed beta and the full access to the game four days early. It also comes with all the DLCs including, all decorative blocks and cosmetic items released for the Steam version of the game in 2019. The Ultimate edition will set you back $29.99/£24.99/€29.99.
