As the title suggests, you play as a squirrel with the uncanny ability to cause murder and mayhem with guns — seven different firearms, to be precise. It's probably not going to be the most serious of video games, and I'm compelled to feel a good level of excitement for it.Starting as "nothing but a rodent with a dream," Squirrel with a Gun has you escaping a secret underground facility to wreak havoc in a sandbox world filled with puzzle platforming bunkers to collect golden acorns. With weapons like sniper rifles and grenade launches on hand, it certainly sounds like you can cause some extreme carnage as you take down enemy agents, help or mug the neighborhood's residents, cruise around in RC cars, give elite bosses a good whooping, and... blow up a tank? Of course, you play as no ordinary squirrel, so expect to find cosmetics, upgrades, and new takedowns along the way.Squirrel with a Gun grabbed my attention last year when DeeDee Creations dropped a Steam trailer for it, and at the time there wasn't any word about a console release. I'm so chuffed that it's coming to Xbox Series X|S later this year, and I will definitely be jumping in for some nutty action.Last month, I covered Road Redemption Games' wacky action-strategy sandbox game Kingmakers, which is also expected to launch on Xbox Series X|S later this year — 2024 is going to be a good one, my friends!More Squirrel with a Gun stories: New Xbox Games — October 14 to 20 Squirrel with a Gun Xbox achievements promise a nutty but simple 1,000G Xbox Series X|S Written by Tom WestTom has been playing video games since he was old enough to hold a controller, experimenting with a number of systems until he eventually fell in love with Xbox.
