Gears Tactics - Ratings out of 10?

Hi,

I'm about to start this game in the next few days, just want to get a few people opinions about the game with a few rating scores. So if anyone has played it for a long time or got a fair few of the achievements could you let me know your opinions on these different ratings please?

The reason I asked for time to 100% a lot of people who have done the game tend to always say the completion is less than what they accomplished so is 80 - 100 hours accurate.

Enjoyment: 8/10
If you like the genre and you like Gears, you'll love this.

Story: 7/10
It's good as it expands on the existing Gears universe and provides back story for existing characters, but story as a whole is quite basic compared to the stories of the main franchise games.

Achievement Grind: 5/10
Achievement Difficulty: 6/10
Achievements are not too hard, there a few where you kind of need to be right place right time, but you shouldn't struggle too hard on any. There's a few grindy ones but if you're on PC a lot can be afk grinded. Prob ways to improve the grind on Xbox as well. And compared to the main franchise games this grind is a breeze.

Xbox or PC recommend: PC
Personal preference for this kind of genre.

Time to 100%: Depends how you wanna play.
If you wanna get the completion as fast as possible you can smash it out in about 50 hours. But if you want the less painful grind and enjoy the game more it's more realistic to say 80 - 100.

If you play on xbox, I just hoped you’ll be lucky and don’t experienced the enemy turn glitch. There’s a few tread on gearsofwar.com forum so at least, I know I’m not the only one with this, but on many missions, sometimes, the game just decides to froze on enemy turn; at least it seemed like it frooze. Once I was having supper so I just let the game like that and one hour later, things finally get started moving again .

Great game overall, but that issue alone makes me hate it. I can’t even think about trying Ironman with this, and yeah some guys had their entire ironman playtrought messed because that happened.

I'm just about done with my first run, the Ironman run on Beginner, and I'd say 99% of the achievements are easy.

The hardest one is Immortal Legion. That's probably going to be an 8/10 in terms of difficulty, depending on your skill level in these types of games. The grindiest one is easily Grubpocalypse, for killing 10,000 enemies. There is no easy way to get this done on console that I can tell. I'm probably going to end my first playthrough with 700-800 kills. Yeah. That should clue you in as to how long it's going to take to get that done.

As for the game itself? I think it's fantastic, the best work TC has done since Ultimate Edition.

If you like Xcom kind of Turned Based stuff.... and the Gears Vibe (Steroid Freaks and Chainsaw Gore) you will love it.

It is one of the few games I will try to 100%. I am replaying in Ironmode ATM and will do an Insane Run after that to pick up the last few Chievo's...

Xcom, Xcom2, Space Hulk Tactics, Gears Tactics..... all great games.

Enjoyment: 5/10 - 1 play through is ok, but the grind is tedious
Story: 4/10 - 1st 2 acts are ok, but its quite clear by the time you get to act 3 they ran out of time/money/ideas
Achievement Grind: 8/10 - the grind is real
Achievement Difficulty: 6/10 - maybe higher if you aren't used to tactical games but I found this easier than xcom
Xbox or PC recommend: played it all on pc, not sure how it plays on Xbox. Would recommend kbam
Time to 100%: 80 hours minimum

Felt like a netflix series you'd play while folding laundry, also annoying & ugly female characters.
Achievement Grind: 10/10
Tedious doesn't even starts to describe it, specially when there's so much RNG involved.
Achievement Difficulty: 4/10
