Cool, glad you liked it. One of those games I would play regardless of quality, but I won't complain if it's good!

I enjoyed Sniper Elite 5 so I will play this but won't take advantage of the Gamepass Launch as I see there is a season pass with three additional missions so I may as well wait for that to go on sale and even pick up the game at the same time.

I can see the Rebellion strategy, put the game out on GP then have lots of premium DLC to claw back cash on lost sales.

I am fine with that it's sort of like the best demo you could ever have although they went so far with there Zombie Army 4: Dead War that I can't even workout what you would need to buy for the completion so haven't played it.

In my opinion these games are perfect for GP. Not something I ever go back and replay. Would just collect dust on the shelf after the first playthrough.

I do wonder if GP contracts pay well enough to justify losing 80% of sales though. Like I'll buy a physical copy of something like Fallout 4 or Bannerlord just to have it, but something like this I'm gonna play on GP once and never think about again.

From a veteran of the series, as in EVERY game, it wasn't broke and yet they seemed it necessary to go full cod. My suspicion is that some of the devs now are prior cod players and were the ones crying about snipers camping....instead of running around with their heads cut off in the middle of the battle field with a sniper rifle.
Then they also decided to this idiotic "found" weapon mechanic........why?
And change the button prompts. SE 1-4 ALL had the same button prompts. Why? Why did they need to be changed?
And seriously, you're going to add invasion, but in order for us or our friends to invade we need a code? W T A F? " Hey buddy, can you send me a code so I can invade your map, just pretend it's a secret and you don't know about it though ok?"
C'mon man, this is 13 year old antics.
Nope, this is yet another regression in the series to try and get more players. Honestly resistance looks to me like some dressed up dlc for SE 5.
The ONLY reason I played 5 and now resistance is it's on Game pass. Neither one is worth more than $12. At best.
And this is from someone who has the OG SE and still plays it on my OG console, both iterations of SE V2 and I even have the steel boom collectors edition of SE3. So I'm all about the SE, the good ones, the way they were!! Sounds like a new video game title....!!

I'd take that 80% with a lot of salt. It doesn't make sense to me. 80% reduction on Xbox? Ok sure, seems possible. Across all platforms...I don't think so.

I always had a fair amount of interest in these but every installment after V2 has felt the same. Then the absolutely absurd amount of and types of collectibles completely sucked away any and all interest I ever had in the game. This was to the point that his series is one of the few I look at in a negative light even though I try to be positive about all games.

Edit: I forgot about the over-priced DLC before until I came back to this. But I'll leave that at that.

Impressive alliteration in the title btw !

It's 80% on Xbox. Nobody said otherwise. No salt needed here by dude.

Sniper Elite: Resistance is a safe follow-up to Sniper Elite 5 that doesn't add much in terms of new features and gameplay mechanics, and while it would have been nice to see Rebellion be a bit more ambitious, Resistance is still a fantastic game that gives the player so much choice and freedom. Each campaign level has been expertly designed to offer as much fun and replayability as possible, and the long-range sniping the series is famous for just never gets old, thanks to that gloriously gory X-ray kill cam.
Great review. I share your sentiments. It's good to get a new and well-made entry in the Sniper Elite Series. It would have been great to get a game that would contend for the title of best 2025 stealth game.
