Any word on all the technical issues I’m seeing? Does the patching coming through on the preload/day one patch address a lot of it? Any issues with achievement unlocks?

Despite not needing to play previous games, Im still going to wait until the other 2. Thanks for the review, looking forward to eventually playing it.

Played the prologue and didn't find it very impressive at all. I'm going back to playing the STALKER Anomaly and GAMMA modpacks and give them another year to patch the game up.

It's GSC, their games always needed patches after release, even before that turned into unhealthy trend in mid-2010s

Like the review mentions, I'm still amazed this game has even come out considering the absolute hell these devs have had to deal with.

The fact the game is getting really positive reviews & they're already actively patching the game is even better. Looking forward to getting around to play this in probably a couple of months time.

anyone experiencing stickdrift..tried different settings but to no avail...tried other games and it doesn't seem to be my controller having an issue.

Слава Украине!! Glory to Ukraine!! Very excited to play. I think I’m going to jump into it before the original trilogy.

Played two hours, enjoying it so far! Haven't had any major bugs yet. I will say, everything is so dark it's hard to see what's going on, but I understand this was likely a design choice. The interiors especially are very dark.

Do you mean with the camera? Or controlling your character?

Because for me the first thing I noticed was that the camera felt weird, or like there was stick drift. Particularly horizontally. The weird thing is sometimes it is there and sometimes it’s not, and it switches between the two enough that it’s actually quite jarring.

I haven’t had the chance to try other games today so not sure if it is Stalker or my controller.

I have the same problem - and so do loads of others going off the Reddit for the game.

This just means you’re not actually a fan of the OG STALKER and are just a fan of the mods.

"However, the game has excelled in the performance department" I'm sorry but how? 4090's are struggling to run it so I refuse to believe the Xbox is having no issues.
Also how can a game score 9/10 when even you admit it has a ton of issues regarding bugs.

As for the Stalker 2 Xbox achievements, well, I think this one might be a beast for completionists. Not only are there several endings to see, but your choices also affect multiple major plot points. In my 40 hours, I’ve unlocked 14 achievements worth 140G, and looking at the achievement list, it's going to need multiple playthroughs if you hope to complete it.
    Great review.

Difficulty does not seem to affect achievements. Looking at the achievement list, there appear to be 3 different endings. What’s not clear is whether or not save manipulation can be used to get all endings on a single playthrough.

Hmm, still tossing up whether I play or wait for patches. It's a remarkable achievement they managed to release it at all, considering they lost some devs to the war.

In regards to review scoring, I think it will be divisive based on console vs PC builds. I've seen some reviews giving the PC build a 4/10 due to all the performance issues.
Console: Series X on an LG CX // PC: Ryzen 5 5600X w/ RTX 3060 Ti

I might do all the Stalker games in order after this is fully patched.
