Ugh such an amazing year for fighting games, I really wish I would have been able to upgrade my One X by now.

As a less experienced player jumping into Tekken 8, the new Arcade Quest mode is a brilliant place to start. It acts as a self-contained, single-player experience but offers you a ton of customization rewards for your profile as you progress, while also teaching you the fundamentals of Tekken 8's features and mechanics.
Great review. It’s great that Tekken 8 accommodates players new to the fighting game genre. It would be even better if Bandai Namco sold an edition of the game with an AFFORDABLE fight stick.

Both PS3 & 360 versions of Tekken 6 came in Limited Editions that included affordable wireless fight sticks. This is the best way to introduce new gamers to the fighting genre. It provides people with a close approximation to the arcade experience.

Was hoping to save up and pick one up before Tekken release, but sadly have had a bunch of unforseen costs lately. Oh well, later this year.

I do plan on picking this up but I'm waiting a bit before jumping in.

Between SFIV, MK1, and now Tekken 8, fighting game enthusiasts are pretty happy toast

Okay, but why didn’t you play any online matches (aside from the Mii training mode)? Is it not working yet? Tekken 8 is supposed to have rollback netcode, but it seems like you maybe didn’t even try it? I get it, I’ve played just the offline portions of several fighting games just for fun, but if you’re reviewing a fighting game I feel like not engaging in any online matches is missing a very core part of the game from the perspective of reviewing the whole game.

$93.49 CDN for the standard edition, I think I will wait for a deep sale.
