Ninja Gaiden 2 Black — Already playing, having fun
Sniper Elite: Resistance — Maybe on a rainy day, the last one was meh and this just looks like more of the same
Avowed — Nope, Matt Hansen can kick rocks
Atomfall — Definitely gonna try this
South of Midnight — Nope, they compromised original creators vision, gutted the game, and left it to a buncha noobs to screw up - will never support creative thieves, especially for the reasons they did it.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 — Been following this for a bit, wasn't aware it was gonna be on GP, definitely trying it
Doom: The Dark Ages — Most anticipated
Do tell and post receipts on South of Midnight drama. Ill get anyways but do enjoy a compelling case.
Basically, the original creator of the story wrote the game based on his childhood experiences and it was his passion project he wanted to do for years, after the success of We Happy Few he finally got the means to do it. Then the investor backed DEI stuff started infesting the industry, and most of the people who worked on the We Happy Few and the outline for South of Midnight got shit canned or just left the toxic work environment on their own, they hired SBI and they gutted the story, rewrote everything, and I believe fired the guy who made it as a final insult (although he may have just quit, I don't recall).

EDIT: As for the receipts, the original creator talked about it on Twitter when it happened and many of the former staff confirmed it and Mark Kern interviewed a buncha them.

Let's be honest. The industry is out of ideas. Has been out of ideas. If the expectation of the culture war is that there's some gem that hasnt been dredged due to us going off course.... maybe we get a Bible GAAS game. Sure to be lit and not at all toxic voice chat. I'd say the side that won is the one completely devoid of culture. I guess blue jeans and nikes are on their way mars.
Agreed, industry is out of ideas, and they fired all the talent in lieu of whatever they wanna call this new batch of hacks. I think the expectation isn't to have "conservative", per say, or "Bible thumping" bullshit in games, no one on the other side of the culture divide has ever asked for that. We just want good stories and good games made by people who care about what their doing because they love games more than they love any agenda or corpo grant money. And trust that if the pendulum swings hard back the other way, and we every game has some overtly religious character lecturing us about morals constantly, or anything like that, I'll be right here bitching about that too. I think its a bit disingenuous to say the side that won has no culture though, we have been asking for good stories - not agenda driven in any direction. It's safe to say the losing side of the culture war couldn't deliver on even the most basic things in games, let alone tell a good story. Wouldn't you agree?

I'd say there are too many games. And again if you believe theres a story not yet told then let me write a check because clearly you know something rest of the world doesnt. Times like this make me glad i dont gave any gaming tattoos and have bought and played every system and game known to man. The gaming is as vast as space and for you to have the take that some things shouldnt exist just paints you as real dumb. At this point i go to your gamercore and say things about having a score so high... implies things. But mods have advised against it.

It's only stacked if these games turn out to be good, granted some like doom will be winners regardless but promising ones like clair obscur and south of midnight may not be received as well. If they all perform or play poorly guarantee people will jump on the bandwagon of hate
Yes, because aside from a few exceptions third parties only put their games in GP day one if they know it won't sell or at least it won't sell on Xbox. If you look at the scores most day1 games in GP are mediocre. Sure it is nice to get these for free but if you actually had to purchase these games how many would you have bought? Everything but Doom and Ninja Gaiden 2 Black (where there is a reasonable expectation about the remaster) is very big if, the MS Studio games even more so. There is a reason why new subscribers don't line up to rent these.

Oh, cmon. I thought we were gonna have a decent chat. Don't get all catty on me with that last line. Lets be adult. Anyway...

I've written and published a few short stories, and won some awards but nothing to write home about. But that's not what I was claiming anyway. There ARE people out there that can tell such stories, and they unceremoniously fired or drove out the ones working in the industry. Luckily, they're all starting their own companies, so we will get to see their stories in real time soon, and this time without any corpo oversite, or intrusive policies that halt progress and destroy franchises. And, no one is saying these games shouldn't exist, people aren't upset because they forced them into existing stories, changed the entire gamut of lores, and for what? To murder franchises? Because they obviously didn't improve them. There is a place for any and all games that anyone can think of, but when you have to inorganically insert it, alter canon, or retcon lore to do it, this is what you get. As we all now know beyond all doubt. I'm live and let live. I have no qualms with anyone who wants to make a nuanced game for a specific audience no matter what it is, but thats not what they did, is it?

As a guy who also have a "passion project" , I feel really sad for this creator who has been dispossessed from his creation. It must be devastating for him.

It's honestly heartbreaking. He was one of the people who put Compulsion on the map and finally got to do what he wanted and they just stole it and spit all over it. If anything we can at least take away the importance of never signing contracts with corpo scum, they don't care about us or anything.

Avowed is the one from this list that I am definitely excited about and I have some interest in Atomfall. The rest aren't for me I don't think but glad to see some strong entries to gamepass, hopefully there is something for everyone.

I’m hurt from too many Unknown 9’s. I’ve allowed my Game Pass to expire and I’m working through the 600+ games in my digital library instead.

All decent/good games but my excitement for AAA games has massively dwindled and I mostly play indie games these days. I may eventually try Avowed but the main game I'm looking forward to and I'm probably alone in this is Orcs Must Die on the 28th of this month. Absolutely stoked.

Bonus mention: ANNOUCE CALL OF DUTY ON GAME PASS. I own all console games but I can't justify spending $60 and then $50 for each season pass of every call of duty that got added to PC! I want to do CoD ghosts for a 3rd time. LET ME
May I reccomend Kingdom Come Delievernce 2 to you.

The word 'Legendary' is being rather overused and inappropriately used recently. A Legend refers to a story about something great from the past. You can't call things in the future legendary.

I've had the first one in my physical collection for over half a decade at this point I believe. I've still yet to start it, not likely to start with the second
