Wick N Morty said:For people that follow these sales religiously, what's the chance Far Cry 6 will be on sale for Black Friday, and estimated price?
Short answer: It's already on sale at the Ubisoft store along with almost all Far Cry games, DLCs, & consumables.
Long answer:
However, Ubisoft's prices are higher than Microsoft's so Ubisoft's 17% discount for the standard game and 20% for the Gold & Ultimate Editions result in higher prices than the Microsoft store's undiscounted prices. I would be very surprised if the Microsoft store put the Far Cry 6 digital games & associated digital content on sale before next year--probably spring at the earliest.
But Far Cry 6 is physical as well as digital. Locally, you should be able to get substantial discounts Black Friday through New Year's. They, most likely, will not be presented as Far Cry 6 sales but the result will be significant discounts to Far Cry 6 purchases. For example, buy 100 USD of merchandise and get a 20 USD store coupon. You then apply the coupon to your Far Cry 6 purchase and get your discount.
Local stores offer physical discounts most aggressively. But, even on the national level, you are likely to see sales of the physical versions before the digital versions. Amazon, for example, already has a 17% discount of the standard physical version in the US.
I'm a sucker for steelbooks but that's a completely different dynamic. Nevertheless, I lucked into a GameStop promotion--a buy two get one free sale for select titles. I got the Assassin's Creed Valhalla Ultimate Steelbook Edition, and the Watch Dogs: Legion Ultimate Steelbook Edition. These were both GameStop exclusives where only GameStop offered the Ultimate Edition in a Steelbook. Ordinarily, you can only get the Gold Edition in a Steelbook.
For my
free game, I selected Far Cry 6 Ultimate Steelbook Edition also a GameStop exclusive where only GameStop offers the Ultimate Edition as a Steelbook. As a caveat, there were only a limited number of games eligible for the buy 2 get 1 free sale but several Far Cry 6 editions were included in this nationwide
physical game promotion. You could, in fact, get 3 copies of the same Far Cry 6 game but pay for only 2--a 33% discount. So, if you and two other friends all wanted to get an early copy of Far Cry 6 on sale, you could pool your resources and do so through this GameStop physical game promotion.
If, for example, you wanted the standard edition, like Amazon, GameStop discounts the standard physical edition from 59.99 to 49.94 USD. It is eligible currently for the buy two get one free sale. So, you and your two friends would each pay 33.30 USD--a 45% reduction of the original list price of the physical version and the current digital version's list price.
