I was not expecting these comments
    Better writing than Fallout 4

Fallout New Vegas is a fantastic game, well deserved of a 10/10
The fact it hasn’t been remastered & released shows someone in management doesn’t want money
Obsidian could start development next year, and we’d still get 2 Fallout games from them before Bethesda releases Fallout 5
Imagine how far away in the future Fallout 5 is at this point when Starwhatever isn't out yet and TES6 is barely even started as a project. The world might as well burn in a Great War before we get FO5 at this rate.
    Very sad but very true.

More of the glitchfest that was well...every Obsidian game ever?

Then all the PR releases where they cry that they didn't get paid a bonus for making NV, despite not actually meeting the conditions to get that bonus.
They made the best 3D fallout game of the lot lmao.

    This clown.
They also released the most on-the-rails Fallout game ever.

Obsidian games are almost always the same.

They give the illusion of an open world when, in reality, you are playing a game no less freeform than House of the Dead at your local Bowlplex.
Yes the game with the most dialogue choices, roleplaying ability and the most branching narrative is "on the rails".

I assume you played it on a different platform, because you barely got a quarter of the way through the game according to your achievement list lmfao.
Hey, look. It is another TA poster using achievements against somebody's posts.

And yes, I played on a different platform (and another gamertag too)

The route through the game is the same. As I said, it gives you the illusion, but you are railroaded through the same segments.
I'm going to side with PirateRyanG on this one. New Vegas...well, I played for about 3 hours and quit it like a bad habit. Like the Yankees, it's highly oversold by its fans.

Now if you like New Vegas, good for you. You're free to do so. However, I could not in good conscience recommend it to a friend. It's boring, buggy, and...not Fallout 3. And, frankly, I've always seen Fallout as a stopgap between Elder Scrolls releases. This is another one.

Well then your opinion is invalid. Just like it would be if any video game journalist played a game with 50-100 hours of content and said they played it for 3 lmfao.

You can easily form an opinion on a game within a few hours. If the game takes more than a couple of hours to get good, it isn't a very good game.

When I worked in game journalism (back in the 360 days) I had a pretty solid idea of what my review would look like after a few hours. Outside of story and a couple of features, you already know what a game is after 2 to 3 hours. You understand the gameplay and most systems.

I couldn't possibly recommend somebody play a game for 100s of hours (to get to the meaty stuff) if the first few hours is terrible. It is a waste of people's time.

(no. I didn't review new Vegas when it came out.)

I challenge Sketchy77 "The Opinion Gestapo" to name five games that sucked in the first 3 hours but drastically improved in the next 100.

    No seriously. Do it.

I think the issue that people are taking with his comments are what they view as a disconnect between his subjective opinion on the game's quality and statements about the game's content that he has made as though they are objective facts.

Claiming the game railroads you through the same scenarios leads me to believe they missed a large portion of the game's content, especially at the beginning.

Lmfao you took a single statement and extrapolated what, fascism and dogma? Dramatic much? I'd say take your own advice about people having the freedom to disagree lmfao.

You played it for 3 hours. Sorry if I don't take that very seriously.

Especially since one of the vague criticisms was "It's not Fallout 3." FNV plays exactly like Fallout 3. None of the things that differentiate it from Fallout 3 appear in the first 3 hours of gameplay lmfao.

No see FNV literally takes place on a train for its entire 3 hour run time. And you can't say otherwise because that is my opinion.

Yes... let's all complain about the obvious. These games are glitchy. That's nothing new, at this point it should be considered a feature. With that out of the way, the guys at obsidian should definitely should take another shot at the fallout ip. These are the guys that created it. I think it would be awesome if Bethesda would have a back and forth with obsidian for fresh takes on gameplay, feature innovation, lore progression. FNV had plenty of influence on 4, and likely could have had much more, provided a longer development period. It also gave obsidian a first shot at the engine they were running. With a second outing, they could potentially put that experience to good use. I am all for them having that second chance.

I hope they release a remaster for FNV. Still one of the best games I've ever played in my life. It's a little bit buggy, but it's an awesome game that I spent hours and hours playing.
    Were it so easy.
