This is genuinely putting me off games at the moment. I was really excited for this but 60fps has been such a game changer for me and the fact that this happens so regularly is ruining some games for me.

This generation makes no sense.

Maybe it will get 60 when ported to PS5 Pro lol.

This is interesting, but somehow less ridiculous than when Redfall announced the same. Also weird when the Digital Foundry guys keep talking about how you have a performance target in mind from the start of development, and yet it always seems to be a surprise to the developers when reported around here.

I'm ready for all the people to show up and say they can't tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps. Why does this generation of console even exist?

Did we learn nothing from Redfall?

No game should run at 30fps in 2024. The Series X is officially outdated and we need an upgrade already.

Feels like most games are now being made for $3,000 gaming PCs. Black Myth: Wukong is the latest example. This week, in almost every preview of a GamesCom game, the reporter says they played on a PC with an RTX 4080. So the GPU alone in the target machine is about $1,200. I'm befuddled why the difference in the cost of entry between a gaming PC and a console is rarely talked about. Instead, streamers, Youtubers, reviewers, etc. act like your moron if you don't/can't plunk down thousands of dollars for a gaming PC.

And, here, Obsidian, a studio owned by Microsoft, is targeting gaming PCs rather than Xbox consoles. Xbox gamers are given a stripped-down version, squeezed on to a console that the studio isn't really targeting. Perhaps, we'll all be buying gaming PCs if we want to keep up with the hobby.

It's because 4k is such a big leap, and this gen it has finally got to the point where everyone expects it as standard now. FPS is always going to be the thing that loses out to whatever the current gen graphical newness is.

So Indiana Jones is also first Person and will be locked at 30fps? This is the lamest excuse ever.

Goddamn it M$ you had ONE job this generation. Make games run at 60 fps minimum. And you fail time, after time, after time. Welp it's on PC Game Pass with achievements. So we good. But seriously WTF? Remember those lying mofos before the Series X dropped? Promising native 4K at 120 FPS? "8K possible"
