Gameplay kind of reminds me of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and I loved that game. Looking forward to it.

I was just about to say this. Obsidian usually also releases good RPGs so this has potential. Graphics so far are the only thing that impress me very much.

I'm making it a point to praise that cover art on every platform possible.

I love it, I may make it my new Xbox background!

That art is so FkN clean. Game looks nice, but I still didn’t get a full sense of how it really plays and it’s “loop.”

Man, i watched the "Game Overview" video, and that combat is looking rough. The animations and physics looked janky as hell, and the pace of everything was very off-putting. Hopefully they tighten that up a bit, the environments (and box art, agreed with everyone above) look pretty awesome.
+1, was thinking the same thing... combat, especially melee, does not look good at all. Reminds me more of an alpha build or low budget indie.
All these games look like they're made on a tight budget, including Indiana Jones.

This is probably the most down I've been on Xbox since forever. People dumped on the brand ten years ago but I was there playing stuff like Ryse (underrated), Gears of War 4 (underrated) & Halo 5 (underrated). All had huge production values & felt expensive.

Avowed meanwhile looks AA. 2024 should have been the year everything came together for Xbox this gen. It hasn't.

Decent spirit of pursuing ambitions should be praised, look at all that play style combinations… I am impressed. But will they cut off the loose end this time? Simply a new online coop system that doesn’t instant pop all achievements? Don’t ruin it like Grounded

Okay all the comments got me to watch the video at least. My thoughts:

    1) The first speaker (lady) might be giving Peter Molyneux a run for his money, “real consequences” I’ll believe it when I see it.

    2) The second employee (first bald man) looked like he was either speaking under duress as his family or cat were held at gunpoint or perhaps created by AI that hadn’t quite solved the uncanny valley problem. Perhaps give that guy a break and find someone to speak who isn’t petrified by it…

    3) The world and environment looks pretty cool but like everyone is saying, that combat looks bad. I don’t want to feel like I’m in a scene from Hardcore Henry while playing and the camera alone makes it awful but the attack animations mostly looked like serious crap as did many of the enemy reactions. With how great recent games like Dead Island 2 have made this kind of thing look, they’ve seriously missed the mark.

    Looks so good!

grounded's combat felt a lot better than how this looks, i was so so hyped for the game now i'm kind of questioning it.

The environments look nice but the first-person perspective and combat is ridiculous, looks like a cheap Skyrim mod. Janky, stiff and laughable with that super wide FOV (I hope it's adjustable). Also, character rendering is simply horrendous, way worse than The Outer Worlds. I have no idea what they're doing but it just smells Low Budget and Game Pass.

Wow, tough crowd. Seems some people are hard to please or have unrealistic expectations. Bear in mind the game is still at least 9 months away, so it's safe to assume there's still work to be done to tighten things like the combat up, which quite obviously looks demo-ready and not release-ready. Pretty sure last time they released some footage people were complaining about the graphics, which now seems to be getting plenty of praise. Let's wait until we see more content closer to launch before casting judgement.
Stoke me a clipper, I'll be back for Christmas... Whatever!

Combat needs more weight. Biomes are amazing, and I would like to explore that world if they offer a solid gameplay loop and narrative. We will see.

The more I see of this game, the worse it seems. And I usually love Obsidian games.
