Or people that have a decent gaming setup and wish to get the most out of it. Not all of us play on a garbage TV on the couch.

Two things can be true at once you know. I can enjoy games at 30fps with no issues, but having 60 just makes the game even more enjoyable and fluid.

It's especially ridiculous when they make a game 30fps, and then 6 months later when nobody gives a fuck about the game anymore, they come out with a 60fps update that was clearly doable all along.
I've never had one of my friends on Xbox ever talk to me about FPS. I do have at least three friends on PC however, that mention it without fail when we catch up but don't seem to know the basic storyline of the games they are playing.

We're all just a sum of our experiences, so I can't be blamed for being honest and sharing mine.

There are of course too many factors for anyone to be "right". Personally, I adjust quickly to the game I am playing, and don't think about it. Switching from Fallout 76 and Call of Duty is noticeable for example, I just don't worry about it
You're on an xbox site and people here are saying it matters to them all the time, every time it's brought up. You can be blamed for just dismissing everyone else's experiences, and that's why you are "wrong" here. When they're telling you it matters, listen to them.
Exactly what I was about to say lmao

The irony too that he just so happens to have "PC friends" and they "always" mention it haha the perfect made up scenario to suit his argument perfectly.

I'm sure it was just a coincidence.

I don't understand why people get so defensive when lots of us say that in 2025, years into the 9th gen, 60fps should be the norm on both Series/PS.

Of course it depends a lot on the game (who cares about 60fps on a card game) and gameplay will always be more important than anything else, but that doesn't mean we have to celebrate and be happy when devs proudly announces something like this...and also, who made you think that one excludes the other so you can only have one?
    You can have both.

I thought this was a new IP/universe. Perhaps too soon to know if I need to have played Pillars of Eternity first?
In this age of devs chasing the widest possible audience, do you really have to ask that? At most they'll namedrop some characters or events that have no effect on the game's plot.

When you're vocally dismissive of something that people are telling you negatively affects their enjoyment of games just because it doesn't affect you personally, that's what's called being a self-centered asshole. I'm 100% "right" about that.

But you cared enough to reply to let me know you didn't make it up, then to tell everyone you're leaving.

Also, back in December, Rocket League came out with an update that broke Xbox, limiting everyone to 30fps at first, then weeks later back to 60, and now just within the past week, finally went back to the original 120fps that was there to begin with.

There was a massive outrage online, and every post RL would make on Twitter and elsewhere, was flooded with hundreds and hundreds of comments about the frames.

That's where the majority of gamers are: Apex, COD, Fortnite, Minecraft, RL, Rainbow Six, etc. And all of those games run at 60fps+. If any of those games had the same issues that RL had, the outrage would be the exact same from the community.

So no, it isn't just on TA that people care, it's just that most "gamers" solely play those online games where the frames are already up to par.

    Bye bye cupcake.

I always prefer a stable frame rate compared to enhanced graphics. I like when games give you that option between Performance or Graphics but I get it can be hard to maximize both.
That’s what an Nvidia RTX 4090 is for. laugh Or the even more obscenely expensive Nvidia RTX 5090 that was released just a few days ago.

Oh, I wish. I don't have the patience to build a PC. I have a prebuild. Students of mine have told me it's cheaper to build your own but I don't know! I'm fine with what I got for now.

    What about 100 hz TVs

Edit: I’ve done a quick bit of research and it sounds like 40 fps would run at 80 hz and be the best mode to pick. Those with 50 hz TVs should always pick 30 fps (or 40 fps if available) over 60 fps otherwise you will get “screen tearing”.
Yes. On a 100 Hz TV, 40 fps would still provide a benefit although not as great as a 120 Hz TV.

It’s less expensive to build your own. I used to do it but I was unwilling to spend the effort to learn how to do my own liquid cooling. So, I have Original build to my specifications.

I don't see how this game couldn't reach 60 FPS, so far I'm not impressed by the visuals, it looks like many games, like Atlas Fallen or Borderlands 3 that have similar rendering and hit 60 FPS. If you have a video showing that Avowed has great visuals, I would be curious to see it though.

Does that mean there is an unlocked framerate option? I mean, that's good for future proofing but could result is some major performance fluxuations.
Reportedly it will have 30, 40, and 60 FPS performance modes. No unlocked framerate.

Its 2025. Achieving "Up to 60 FPS" shouldn't be applauded, it should just be the norm. With the absurd amount of money it costs to develop a game, why does it seem like not a single dime goes into optimization?

It's also funny to see another Microsoft owned studio still not be able to optimize their owners own hardware. Hi Arkane Austin. You go look at the sales page for the Series X on the xbox website and it talks about hitting up to 120FPS, that is what in house development teams should be hitting.

I hope you can switch between performance and quality on the fly like in Cyberpunk. Performance for combat, quality for cutscenes was great and it only took like two seconds to switch
