Delays are not always a bad thing if they can make the game play better or release with little to no bugs (pipe dream I know) that would be great.

+Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Yes there are so many games so it's not surprising

Take the time you need Obsidian. Pumped for this one. Gotta still play Pillars 2 first though.

One delay for a little extra polish and to try and release where its not so busy to get a little more limelight is a good thing.

If it gets to several delays for any game is when you should start to worry!

Fine. I'll be too busy playing STALKER2 and COD to invest time into Avowed.
    Would you kindly...

Moving it back to give it a better chance to shine in a less crowded release window is a good idea. Allows the game to get a little more polish too.

Much better than the news we keep getting if games being delayed and cancelled because they are in an awful state

I have no problem with delays, especially when it makes sense like this one. The game should have the space to shine

Like I said before if the rumor is true, then Microsoft don't really have a firm timestamp of when there game's get's released...s.t.a.l.k.e.r. 2 is one example...but I can understand that was due to the russian-ukraine war...
    Avowed has no excuses...tho...

If it's not ready then good delay it. I'm tired of broken games at launch.

Aw, boo. Was really looking forward to it. Hopefully this means it launches without any problems, but we all know that won’t be the case..
This site desperately needs a separation between legitimate and illegitimate completion times!

I wish more games came out in Q1. Everything comes out in the Fall and gets lost.

They said they are releasing later to allow the game breathing space, over a very busy schedule. Do you not think that's a good idea, or are you of the opinion that a game MUST release on xyz date without fail, regardless of the market situation?
    Would you kindly...

Totally fine with this already overwhelmed (which isn't a bad thing after some of the previous years!) and very excited for Avowed so want to be able to give it my full attention. I'm still playing BG3 and I got that at xbox launch laugh

More time to work on games is not a bad thing.

I know Avowed is moving due to scheduling of other games, to allow it it's own time to shine.

    However:

When it comes to release dates, these are provided by the development and project management departments in the game studio, not Xbox themselves (though Xbox will naturally be wanting these dates, then assist in marketing and support to reach those dates).

Release dates are simply best guesses based on prior experience of the developers, artist, designers project managers etc. And with all the best will in the World these dates can approach fast and people just haven't finished what they were meant to, or bugs arise, or other things crop up. Developing software, especially as complex as a video game, isn't a robotic endeavour. It's humans. And things happen with humans outside of simply making a video game.

Everything impacts the release date. So, rather than some people (you know who you all are) bitching and moaning about "Phil Spencer lied" or "studios should be ashamed of pushing a game back" etc, how about showing some patience, empathy and restraint toward the people toiling to make a game for you to play.

To be fair, most of the complainers probably wouldn't play the game anyway. They just like to impose their negativity on the internet.
    Would you kindly...

I'm nervous that most of the games don't come out perfectly due to the extended production period, I hope it ends well.

I am fine with this...last video material I saw still had rather clunky animations. Better to release later than as a broken mess from which very few games ever recover.
