Where's the big announcements for games we have to wait a few years for? What the hell are Microsoft doing? And where's the supposed first party titles Microsoft keep assuring us is under development? Most games listed above were announced 2 years ago and back then they said "we have more games", where are they?
All in early production I guess...anyhow I had a feeling for a while now that most of their 1st party games would not be released until late 2023 earliest, many of them later than even that. Overall the lack of 1st party games is exactly why MS went and bought new developers, but the things is they should have started to do it much earlier than 2018. Game development, especially with bigger triple A games takes so many damn years and when MS started to acquire developers, many of them were still finishing or had just finished their last multiplat games. That included Obsidian, Inxile, Double Fine, most of Bethesda studios and so on.
When most AAA development takes atleast 3 to 4 years, well do the math and then COVID pushed things back even further. Earliest possible date to see any fruits of their studio acquisitions was 2022 and they were supposed to release Starfield and RedFall this year, but both were pushed back to 2023. And one can assume that some of their announced games will see release towards end of 2023, most likely Hellblade II, perhaps Avowed and Fable if we are really optimistic, though I still suspect they along with few others are 2024 releases
