Xbox sale round-up March 29th, 2022

That's what I said: each week the same titles, but different editions. Last week there was Immortals Fenix Rising GOLD Edition, this week it's the turn of the bundle Immortals+Valhalla. See you next week for Valhalla Deluxe and GOLD Editions!! 😡

We know Steam are unbeatable in matter of sales, but what about Playstation, are they good, or better than Xbox?

Amalur is getting cheaper. I must resist though, completed it on 360 and as much as I enjoyed it, life is too short to complete the same game twice.

So we will have to get used to Ragnarok + Game and Ragnarok + Game + all DLC going on sale every couple of weeks, but never Ragnarok by itself. At least for a year or so.

I can’t see them putting delisted games on sale.

You do know Microsoft have no control over what goes on sale. If you go to the Ubisoft store you will see it is Ubisoft that keep putting their games on sale, not Microsoft.

In what they have been delisted?

I do know, but I'm pretty sure they should/must. That is their console(s), their brand, they are the boss. Why does the boss shouldn't have a look at what happens in their entreprise? Their brand image must be part of the reflexion. I'm a boss, I see some 'employees' doing stupid things that annoy the customers, I'd do something. There, Microsoft lets Ubisoft, LEGO or Ubisoft again or easy GamerScore games publishers do their things, but in the end, not so much people in the comments are happy, they rather all say 'same old shit'.

Does anyone have any opinions or insights into wether or not the extra $1.65 for the Apex Edition of Far Cry Primal worth it?

Just the two Artifax games for me this week - Skyland Heart of the Mountain & Uncharted Tides Port Royal.

The bundle already has several games purchased from recent sales – starting to look like profiteering selling singles one week then a bundle which includes the same game the following.

I'm seeing the same thing on the old 360 marketplace website but the xbox.com storefront online is showing it at a discount. Not sure at all why that is.

The backwards compatible games on the xbox.com / xbox one store are just that, the BC versions of the 360 game and not the 360 game itself.
So if you have a game on the 360 that is BC, you basically get a licence for the BC version from the regular xbox store, too.
Which also means if you buy the BC version, you cant play it on your 360.
The store page reflects that by stating it only works with Xbox One , Xbox Series S/X.

The 360 store is completely seperate from everything else, it's region locked for example and the others are not.
Thank you for taking the time to type that all up - this was something I was not aware of at all and will certainly look out for in the future.

Edit: and now I'm a tad worried about a few games I've purchased over the years that I may not fully "own." Oops!

Tbh, I'm not so sure about that anymore now .. Thats how I thought it worked, but I looked into it some more and a can't really find a definitive answer.

If you take the GwG games for the 360, for example last months Spongebob, I think I claimed that through my Series X, but when I checked the 360 store just now, it looks like I own that one, too.

So yeah, sorry if I confused you and it turns out I'm wrong afterall, I dont know what to believe anymore laugh

EDIT: Also the game in question seems to be on sale on the 360 store now, too, maybe there was a delay or something.

EDIT2: Just checked with the Borderlands 2 Season Pass that I bought on the Series X in the past and I have that on my 360, too. Looks like it works both directions afterall and I had this all wrong.
At least I'm still sure that the stores are seperate from each other with the difference in how they handle regions, etc., but your purchases seem to transfer anyway.

Valhalla Gold and Ultimate were delisted and “replaced” with Ragnarok and Complete. So we won’t be seeing Gold on sale again :) Looks like Deluxe is still around, but why would anyone pay an extra $20 just for Berserker gear???

Microsoft cannot force Rockstar to sell RDR2 for $5 - even though Microsoft own the store. The best Microsoft could do is sell it for $24 by not taking their $6 cut. They could even sell it for $20, but they would still have to give Rockstar $24 for every copy sold.

Likewise Microsoft cannot refuse CDPR from selling Cyberpunk for $1. They would still take their $0.20 cut though :)

Microsoft can choose not to promote a sale. I don’t think people realise that Major Nelson only promotes US sales, and the list is not everything that is on sale in every region every week. When Australia have their back to school or spring sale, in the US the kids are half way through the school year, or it is autumn/fall. I used to publish a current sales blog each week/day, and I would find “unannounced by Major Nelson” sales.

TA do cover the game and DLC with achievements sales in Canada, UK, Australia and most of Europe, but there are many more Xbox regions, and DLC without achievements.

Still good info. It is true the stores are still seperate. In my region the same BC game can be a different price on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One store - so buy from the cheapest! When LEGO Batman 2 was GwG in November on the X1 store, LEGO Batman 1 was GwG on X360 store - so you could claim both!

This is all great intel and very helpful info. Thank you for taking the time to look into that further. I checked a few BC 360 games (Dead Rising 2: Case West, Skate.) that I know I purchased on the One storefront and it does appear that they do work in both directions after all. Phew!
