Definitely sounds like something you may wanna see a doctor about
Forza junkie since FM2. Horizons are the break I need from the track. FH4 and I HAD a volatile love/hate relationship. FH5: big disappointment

Sorry - not a sales pitch that works on me.
Gotta love when streaming services pull that crap. They want you to subscribe, but won't tell you what you're getting for subscribing. At least Game Pass lets you see what you get.
I think you need to hust make a free account not pay to see. Though I agree with your sentiment.

But here in case you still care:

Maybe I'm very ignorant but what is the advantage of cloud based gaming? Is it helpful for those that don't have Internet or maybe just those that are mobile?

Maybe I'm an old man, but I don't need anything more than a console and PC haha glad this an option, I'm just not certain I would ever use it.

I've used xCloud to play some Game Pass games that weren't downloaded, so maybe this helps people with bad bandwidth that can't download games but stream them?
I think there are 3 use cases for playing via cloud streaming:
    1. You can stream games on your mobile devices while you are away from home and don't have your console with you, or when you need to free up the TV at home.
    2. If you want to play a platform exclusive game but don't intend to buy a new console. For example people without an Xbox are able to stream Starfield if they care to play it.
    3. Testing a game via streaming to see if you actually would enjoy it before committing to download the game on your console.
I'm pretty sure these are the PC versions being streamed and not the Xbox Versions, but I could be wrong, that's what I saw described on Twitter

It's a service that allows you to play your own games on a cloud server. Pretty interesting concept and something I bet will be a major part of gaming in the future.
    So… plex? Ish?

Count me in with the crowd that'd never heard of Boosteroid.

Seems pointless if we've already got game pass.

What’s this Boosteroid? What do I benefit from it?

As far as I know "xCloud" in Xbox currently uses Xbox Series X as the hardware but virtualized so that the games run under asl Series S container on that cloud hardware, making it possible for 2 users to play on the same cloud server. Digital Foundry has a comparison video between Xbox xCloud streaming and PlayStation Plus (PS Now) streaming where they explain it in detail: https://youtu.be/KI5E4jG_JZE

GeForce Now uses of course PC versions for streaming. Their sales pitch is that you get all the fancy features including ray-tracing, for which you would otherwise need an expensive PC, but you need to bring your own game account (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG).

In case of Boosteroid I didn't look it up but I guess it's the PC version.

Kept reading the article expecting that, at some point, it would tell me what Boosteroid is, but no such luck.

Reading the comments, it seems like maybe that might have been some useful information to include, as no one seems to have any idea what the fuck it is.

It's got Rimworld, so maybe it's worth another subscription fee? dive

Seen way too many people say they've never heard of Boosteroid. First heard of them, when MS said, during the ABK acquisition phase, that they signed an agreement to allow Boosteroid to stream Xbox games. This was around the same time Nintendo signed their 10 year agreement with MS.

These agreements were attempts to appear to antitrust regulators.

I listen to a lot of Xbox podcasts, so I'm quite jealous of those not knowing these types of information.

See a few people think the same as me. "Sign Up" to see what games we have. All you're having is a laugh. I've tried a few Cloud games, but even with my 300mb line they take ages to load (normally quicker to download and play) and as I already have GPU whats the point

Surely they could come up with a better name than Boosteroid.
Console: Series X on an LG CX // PC: Ryzen 5 5600X w/ RTX 3060 Ti
